When my family moved to Baroda from Mumbai in 1988, opportunities to play tennis in the city 
were virtually non-existent.  It was after some time that we came into contact with Sunil Vyas, 
who himself was beginning his career as a tennis professional.  As one of his first students, I am 
testament to his continuous effort and the commitment towards developing tennis in Baroda.  
He is in my opinion, without a doubt, the single most important person responsible for the 
tremendous growth of tennis in the city.  It was under his guidance that players like me from 
Baroda first started to challenge the likes of those in Ahmedabad and other major cities and 
thereafter achieved unprecedented success at state and national level tournaments.  The 
formation and development of the BCDTA, with Sunil as the head coach, has been a blessing for 
budding tennis players in Baroda.  Sunil's students benefit from his technical expertise and 
personable approach to teaching, which has helped so many of us over the last two decades.

Sunil Vyas is one of the best influential people in BARODA TENNIS. His program of primary on 
court training has evolved in to a multi-faceted approach which includes blending the technical 
and strategic on court training with specialized performance physical training and mental 
conditioning. Sunil Vyas not only builds athletes on court, but more importantly prepares them 
for a successful life on the court as well.
